With his song Kappin Up receiving copious amounts of fame on TikTok, KA$HDAMI was definitely on the radar of artists skip the boat were eager to sit down with as the 15 year old artist from DMV gained almost overnight fame. The single has since surpassed over 2 million streams across all platforms and over 150k views on the recently dropped music video on WorldStarHipHop. Being so young and unique, KA$HDAMI has separated himself from the crowded herd of hopeful artists in the underground music scene. We got the opportunity to ask the up and coming rapper a few questions about his life, music and recent success. Check out the full interview below!

 

Tell us about your life growing up and what inspired you to pursue music at such a young age?

I was jus bored wit my niggas and it just happened

 

How supportive is your family of your choice to create music?

My mom hella supportive kuz i be hellpin with bills and shit now and she see da numbers so she startin to catch on

 

A lot of people compare you to the likes of Tay-K, XXXTENTACION & D. Savage… what are your thoughts on these comparisons and would you say they have influenced your style of music in any way?

I mean i listen to all these artist but the only thing i kan say we have in common are our voices because of how young we are, but i do use plug type beats which dsavage and tay k also have in common wit me

 

Kappin Up blew up what seemed to be overnight through TikTok and has since gained over 1.5 million streams… did you expect for it to gain as much success as it did?

No not really I made it when i was 13 like 2 years ago so when it blew up 3 months ago i was suprised

 

Tell us about Hvmor records… what happened to it?

Hvmor is just a collective with my friends that we made since we were like 11. And it still is operating but more as a upload channel to help the underrated have a platform

 

What is KA$HWAY?

KA$HWAYZ is a mindset , dont let nun get between u and a da money . But also its a way of life , if u eat everybody and da gang gotta eat too

 

Are you currently working on any upcoming projects and when can we expect to see them?

Yea I'm finishing up my first album that I'm hoping will be released in the next couple months

 

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

I see that i'm selling out shows, at rolling loud, in a bigass house, maybe a grammy or sum shit lmao and a xxl freshman if not before 5 years

 

Who are some artists you would really like to work with in the future?

Duwap Kaine or Nahmir would both go Krazy for me lol i been listenin to allot of em both lately

 

Can we hope to see you performing here in New Zealand one day?

Man i hope but this corona shit gettin real
